According to a 2013 article on beaconjournal.com, the 18-time major champion realized the impact of staying fit after exhausting himself while playing 36 holes in the 1969 Ryder Cup. The golfer revealed his weight at the time was his 210 pounds and decided to shed his weight on his flight home.

Jack Nicklaus founded the Memorial Tournament and has hosted it ever since. And he reminisced about his fat-loss journey at a press conference before the 2013 edition of the event. He said he plans to lose pounds.

“My friend had just started the Weight Watchers diet. I said, ‘Let’s try your diet.'” Nicklaus explained how he came to follow the Weight Watchers Diet for weight loss. WW He also explained his routine since starting the diet.
